Putre is ideal as a starting point for hikes. The routes have been used for centuries by the Aymara farmers and you might encounter them even today on the road leading their lama herds. ROUND TRIP PITACANE

This circular hike leads through beautiful gorges up to a pre-hispanic settlement, the petroglyphs of Wilakahuranny and the summit cross of Pitacane. The Pitacane offers a beautiful panoramic view over the surrounding valleys and canyons, the Nevados de Putre and the village of Putre up to the Lluta Valley.

HIKING TOUR TO SOCOROMA

We walk on old paths from Putre (3,500 m) to Socoroma (3,000 m). The hike takes about six hours and leads us into the world of cacti. Socoroma is a small village in the submontane Andes, known for its microclimate and the evergreen oregano terrasses.

HIKE TO THE PETROGLYPHS OF WILAKAHURANNY

Starting in Chakana we walk along old irrigation aqueducts up to pre-hispanic petroglyphs. The tour takes approximately 5 hours and leads along green canyons and cactus covered hillsides. This walk is a must for every Putre visit.
